Chilwell Badminton Club was originally called Nottingham Veterans Badminton Cub.
Formed in 1986 (coinciding with the availability of new courts at Chilwell Olympia), "The Vets", as it was affectionately known, was born from the enthusiasm and efforts of Dorothy Gregory, Colin Abbott and Alan Hunt.
The strength of The Vets was reflected in the high numbers of members chosen to represent the County in Veteran events, and in the fact that individual members have achieved outstanding success at National and International levels.
From the 2015/16 season, the club was renamed to Chilwell Badminton Club, and removed the age restriction on membership, opening up to players of all ages. A number of the remaining members of The Vets continue to play for both the club and County badminton.
